Mike Rogers, an American expatriate living in Japan, recently learned that it is impermissible for Americans to receive packages from abroad that weigh more than one pound unless the sender provides the Social Security number of the recipient. He made this discovery when his young son attempted to send a small package containing toys and a book to a friend in Arizona.

This is a small but significant example of the way the Homeland Security State is beginning to emulate its totalitarian predecessors. As Rogers observes, totalitarian states such as contemporary North Korea or wartime Imperial Japan ?try to support failing systems by cutting their people off from ? foreign influence.?

?In North Korea, if they catch you trying to escape, they execute you,? Rogers continues. ?Imperial Japan did the same thing. How much longer until the USA tries this??

The increasingly invasive and dictatorial means used to restrict our freedom of movement suggest that we?ll have the answer to that ominous question quite soon.

Let us take back the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free.
