Making Felons Out of Foodies

The federal Food and Drug Administration recently dispatched an officious letter to Diamond Foods informing them that the walnuts sold by that company have been categorized as ?drugs.? This is because the company?s advertising emphasizes the documented health benefits of walnuts, which are rich in Omega-3 oils and other vital nutrients.

The FDA recently deployed stormtroopers to seize a large quantity of elderberry juice from a winery in Kansas. This armed robbery was supposedly justified, once again, by advertising that emphasized long-recognized health benefits of the product. This publicity, insisted the FDA, turned the product into a ?dangerous drug.? Wydlewood Cellars, which produced and marketed the beverage, had complied with orders to change the claims on the label ? but this wasn?t enough to placate the FDA?s food Nazis.

Michael R. Taylor, the former corporate attorney for Monsanto who is now the Obama regime?s food czar, has defended armed raids against Amish farmers and others who sell raw milk.

People who support the War on Drugs should understand that if the State can regulate what we choose to ingest, it won?t stop at narcotics. The Regime is making felons of foodies.

Let us take back the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free.
