Sal Agro, a 67-year-old man from Lake Orion, Michigan, died of a heart attack on September 2. His death was almost certainly a belated result of his experience a week earlier.

Agro ran a facility called Clinical Relief that provided medical marijuana to physician-approved customers under a 2008 state law. In late August the city government lifted a local moratorium on sales of medical marijuana.

Days later the Sheriff?s Department, in open defiance of the law, raided Agro?s clinic. According to Agro, the officers ?had ski masks on and acted like the Gestapo.? The officers tore up his home and office. They also violated the HIPPA law ? which protects patient confidentiality ? by seizing medical records.

The same lawless behavior was on display at another facility called Everyone?s Café, where police threw cancer patients to the ground and held them at gunpoint.

Sal Agro, a beloved and well-respected local figure, was a victim of state terrorism carried out in the name of fighting drug use.

Let us take back the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free.
