On the eve of the 12^th anniversary of 9/11, the President of the United States made a televised national address reiterating his willingness to intervene in the Syrian civil war on the side of al-Qaeda. The dominant element within the so-called Syrian resistance is composed of jihadists like those who recently demolished  a Christian village called Maaloula.

The carnage prompted one fleeing resident to ask a reporter: ?Where is President Obama to see what [has] befallen us??

The answer, of course, is that Mr. Obama was desperately trying to build public and international support for a war that would benefit the barbarians who had laid waste to that Christian village.

It was Vladimir Putin ? the ex-KGB officer ruling the Russian Federation? who intervened to prevent a U.S.military strike against Syriaby proposing that the country turn over its chemical weapons to international control. While Obama indicated that he would explore the Russian proposal he continues to claim both the authority and moral mandate to order an attack.

Thomas Paine famously wrote that ?Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered.? The same is true of the deranged ambitions of people willing to commit mass murder on humanitarian pretexts.

Let us take back the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free.
